Bringing Happiness to the Summer Jamboree

TWTH volunteers hit the streets during the world-famous Summer Jamboree in Senigallia, Italy, bringing lasting happiness to the joyous festivities.

The Summer Jamboree is an international festival celebrating 1940s and 1950s American music and culture, held every year between the end of July and the first half of August in Senigallia, a coastal town on Italy’s Adriatic Sea.

It is the largest and most renowned event of its kind in Europe. This lively crowd—drawn by the promise of color, rhythm and carefree fun—became the focus of the Senigallia Way to Happiness team.

The volunteers embraced the jamboree’s nostalgic atmosphere, wearing Way to Happiness T-shirts, with the men in white beach trousers and green suspenders and the women in white skirts and green hair bows—all perfectly attuned to the vintage theme.

While the celebrations were joyful and the energy bright, everyone would eventually return home to face the realities of everyday life—whether happy or challenging. With The Way to Happiness, our team sought to ensure attendees took away more than just memories: a practical guide offering a route to genuine and lasting happiness.

As crowds wandered between concerts and dance floors, volunteers met them one-on-one, sharing The Way to Happiness booklets with a personal touch. Many people stopped to read right away, and numerous attendees expressed appreciation for the volunteers’ dedication to spreading values and moral principles through the booklet. Some were so inspired that they ran back to the volunteers to request extra copies to share with friends and family.

As L. Ron Hubbard says in The Way to Happiness, “Happiness lies in engaging in worthwhile activities. But there is only one person who for certain can tell what will make one happy—oneself.”

Reflecting on the week, one TWTH organizer shared, “These revelers didn’t just enjoy a week of music and laughter—they also took home a powerful tool for true happiness in their everyday lives.”
