Fun and Exciting Contest Gives Educators an Easy-to-Follow Guide for Teaching Moral Values
The Way To Happiness Essay and Poster Competition is a highly successful activity, which inspires children with positive messages and instills strong moral values in them. Run annually in the United States by The Way to Happiness Foundation International, the contest educates children about the harmful effects of drugs and crime, and helps protect them from negative influences. By studying, discussing and writing essays or drawing posters on various themes from The Way to Happiness book, kids of all ages and from a wide range of groups not only learn the basic values of life but they help make a safer America in the process.
The contest is open to all kids, and not only are there more than 100 winners chosen nationally, but every entrant receives a small prize. Individuals, business leaders and corporations sponsor and support local activities in specific geographical areas across the country. The contest involves many local groups and schools and many thousands of youngsters are reached. The Making America Safe Youth Essay Contest started in the fall of 1994. The Way to Happiness Essay and Poster Competition helps children and youth obtain a basic understanding of right and wrong. In today's society nothing could be more important. It's not easy educating children today. Not in the face of a society where right and wrong seem to have lost their meaning.
Drugs and crime endanger the survival potential of youth and parents as well as educators. They endanger our children's future and threaten the very fabric of society. Drugs inevitably lead to ruined lives. Harmful actions and criminal behavior bring unhappiness, and not just for the victim but the perpetrator as well.

In today's world, teaching youth the difference between right and wrong is not just a good idea it is a vital action that directly relates to the survival potential and happiness of our children and our society. Essay and Poster Contest Instills Moral Values. As one of the largest activities of its kind, The Way to Happiness Foundation International's Essay and Poster Competition not only helps students become better writers but also teaches important moral values.
The activities are open to children and youth of all races and religions from the age of 5 all the way up to the age of 18. This wholesome program involves students from public and private schools as well as youth organizations. There is no entry fee for students, teachers or schools.
Reaching 6000 Schools and 400,000 Students. In eight prior editions of this competition over 6000 schools and 400,000 students have been involved. As a result, teachers have submitted more than 10,000 essays and posters for consideration of national honors. Over 1600 students and 150 teachers have been awarded.
As part of this popular program to improve the attitudes and character of students, English, social studies and art teachers use the effective nonreligious common sense guide entitled, The Way to Happiness.
Winners Across 6 Age Divisions. Students writing essays and doing posters compete in
their own age divisions. The Grand Prize Winner from
each of the 6 age divisions will each receive a framed
certificate acknowledging their achievement, a The
Way to Happiness pin and $100 cash. Second Place and
Third Place Winners will receive certificates as well as
a The Way to Happiness pin.
The only materials needed to start the contest are the Contest Rules & Guidelines page and copies of The Way to Happiness booklet. There is a limited supply of free The Way to Happiness booklets available to teachers for the Contest so please email us early so you can get your needed copies.
